Hypervision announced collaboration with Somnium Space, Vrgineers and Lynx Mixed Reality following their participation in an investment round alongside the Israel Innovation Authority. The announcement stated that Somnium Space founder and CEO Artur Sychov would join Hypervision’s board.
The partnership focused on bringing compact, wide-field VR/XR optics to market. Hypervision’s second-generation HO140 pancake lens was presented with a horizontal field of view of 140 degrees, a large eye box and support above 40 pixels per degree. The VR240 architecture combined optical modules to extend horizontal coverage to 240 degrees.
The announcement highlighted the goal of retaining the compact form of pancake optics while improving edge-to-edge sharpness and field of view. Lynx develops virtual and augmented reality devices, Vrgineers develops professional VR systems, and Somnium Space operates a social VR platform.
